Strawberry Sauce
Delicious over shortcake, ice cream, cheesecake, waffles, pancakes or crepes.
Ingredients:
1 quart strawberries, riinsed, hulled and sliced
1/4 c sugar
1/4 c water
1 lemon, zested and juiced
1 T cornstarch
Directions:
In a heavy saucepan combine all ingredients and heat over medium until mixture simmers and begins to thicken.
Strawberry sauce is great served over cheesecake, shortcake, Belgian waffles, pancakes, crepes and just about anything else. Take a look at our other fruit toppings, such as blueberry sauce and apple topping.
