Do you ever switch it up a bit and have breakfast for dinner? I think it’s fun to enjoy some of our favorite breakfast items in the evening. I have to admit, some of my kids think it’s a little weird; but, who cares? After a busy day, sometimes there’s nothing quite as relaxing as treating myself to one of my favorite breakfast dishes. Tonight we made some incredible French Toast stuffed with Nutella and bananas. Who doesn’t love Nutella? Oh my gosh, it’s probably one of my favorite foods of all time. It’s a creamy, rich, chocolatey hazelnut spread. It goes perfect with just about anything!
It always brings me back to those days when I was young and spent months traveling by train throughout Europe. A fresh baguette, a hunk of amazing cheese, a jar of Nutella and a bottle of wine was all I needed to endure even the longest train ride. Ah, those were the days. But, even though my life is a bit more chaotic and certainly more structured, I can still indulge in this luscious treat.
The Perfect Breakfast for Dinner!
Today, I don’t get to travel as much as I’d like, but I still love great food, a good wine and an occasional Nutella fix. Take a look at my recipe for Banana Nutella French Toast; but, a word of warning… my boys thought these looked like breakfast sandwiches and as boys will do, they were convinced it was finger food. Bad idea! The bananas and Nutella will slide out making a big gooey mess. Of course, if that’s what you like… have at it! Nothing wrong with warm Nutella running down your fingers.
Hope you enjoy this recipe as much as my family does.
