Christmas wouldn’t be the same without making this indulgent Christmas Crack Candy at least once. It’s the perfect treat to take to holiday parties or to have on hand for some yummy snacking. It’s a great project to do with the kids because it only requires a few ingredients and it can be finished in a matter of minutes. Kids love to help in the kitchen, but let’s face it, some recipes are just too long and involved for the little ones. This recipe is perfect, they’ll love laying out the crackers, sprinkling on the chocolate chips or adding the M&Ms at the end. The best part – they taste amazing!

  • 35 saltine crackers
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1-3/4 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 bag holiday M&Ms (red and green)
  • 1 jar holiday sprinkles

  • 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar

Instructions
  1. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil; coat the foil with non-stick cooking spray. Place the saltine crackers on the prepared baking sheet, fitting edge to edge, approximately 5 crackers wide by 7 crackers in length. Set aside.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter with the brown sugar. Bring to a full boil, stirring constantly, boil for 2 minutes. Pour the mixture over the saltine crackers and spread in an even layer. Bake 5 to 6 minutes. Remove from oven.
  3. Immediately top with the chocolate chips; return to oven and bake for an additional 2 to 3 minutes, just until the chocolate has melted. Remove from oven. Spread chocolate chips into an even layer. Top with red and green M&Ms, and holiday sprinkles. Cut into squares, but leave on baking sheet; cool until the chocolate has set.
