My cast iron pans are my go-to pans for just about everything. They are great for making delicious Dutch Babies to frying bacon or even grilling salmon. I’ve had my cast iron pans for many, many years; in fact, one of them is a hand-me-down from grandma and has been in my family for more than 45 years! I have to say, it is absolutely one of my favorite pans because it is perfectly seasoned and always non-stick.

Of course, cast iron pans require a little care to keep them in great condition. Here’s an excellent video from Lodge (you know, those people who make the best cast iron pans)! The video will show you in a few easy steps not only how to season your brand new pan, but also how to restore an old neglected cast iron pan that is starting to rust.

Don’t worry. It only takes a few simple steps and you’ll have an amazing pan that will last for generations.

Here’s another fun video that will show you how Lodge makes their cast iron pans. OK. I’m a homeschooling, geeky kind of gal, so this kind of thing is something that I find fascinating. It takes a little over 10 minutes to watch the tour, so grab a cup of tea and sit down and enjoy.
