Chocolate Crinkle cookies are always a favorite and these yummy little bites are definitely a classic. They are a delicious cross between a crispy cookie and a delectable chewy brownie. The dough is dropped into confectioners’ sugar before the cookies are rolled into a ball and baked. This gives them their unique look.

Chocolate Crinkle Cookies
These chocolate crinkle cookies are definitely a holiday staple, but they're just as delicious any other time of the year. The soft chocolate cookie is rolled in confectioners' sugar before baking, giving these cookies their distinctive crinkled appearance.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 ounces unsweetened chocolate (4 squares), melted
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar

Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, mix oil, melted chocolate, and sugar together. Add eggs one at a time and beat well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add the flour mixture to the chocolate mixture and stir to combine.
  4. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill in refrigerator for several hours or overnight.
Preheat oven to 350° F
  1. Drop the dough by teaspoonfuls into the confectioners’ sugar. Completely coat the dough with sugar, then roll into balls.
  2. Placed on greased baking sheet, about 2 inches apart.
  3. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Do not over bake!

 

 

For many people, no Christmas cookie platter would be complete without some of these delicious Chocolate Crinkles. I know they’re definitely a favorite at my house!
