Family Night Pizza and Ice Cream – Ready to Celebrate!

Last night was family night which means quality time with the kids and plenty of great food. It’s our one night of the week when we get to splurge! Our latest craze is making flatbread pizzas. So, we pulled out our trusty Pizza Pizzazz, lined up a pizza station and everyone made their own customized family night pizza. The girls have discovered how delicious pineapple and Canadian bacon are on pizza, but the boys are happy to stick with their trusty favorites of pepperoni and cheese. The flatbread makes it easy for everyone to create their own pizza and it’s super convenient.

Of course, we couldn’t just leave it at a great movie and delicious flatbread pizzas, we had to kick it up a bit and make 3 different kinds of ice cream! Yep, THREE! We made a Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream for my daughter who doesn’t like chocolate, except in her cookie dough (imagine that!). We also made a decadent Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge Swirl Ice Cream with a deep chocolate ice cream with swirls of peanut butter and hot fudge. Geez, how can you go wrong with that? Our last flavor was Rocky Road, a pick by my youngest daughter. We love making homemade marshmallows, so we cut up some of our marshmallows into small bits, toasted some pecans and added them all in at the very end of the churning. Of course, we started with a great chocolate base. Yummm!

OK, so now it’s Sunday morning and we need to think about a light breakfast. A refreshing citrus salad and a little cereal for the kids and we’re ready for the day.

Hope you’re having a wonderful Sunday!
