Tender Pork Chops in the Slow Cooker

These pork chops will become a family favorite. Slow cooked until moist and tender with a flavorful gravy perfect for pairing with mashed potatoes.  This is one of our favorite slow cooker recipes.

Ingredients:

3/4 c. flour, divided

1/2 tsp ground mustard

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/4 tsp Kosher salt or Salish smoked salt*

1/4 tsp freshly ground black paper

Dash cayenne pepper

4 – 6 pork chops (bone-in or boneless)

2T Canola oil

1 can (14-1/2 oz) chicken broth or stock

Directions:

Combine flour, ground mustard, garlic powder, salt, black pepper and cayenne, set 1/4 cup aside. Place the remaining flour mixture in a shallow pan. Season pork chops with salt and pepper on both sides, then dredge in flour mixure, shake off excess. Heat large skillet and 2T canola oil, add pork chops and brown until golden brown on both sides. Place pork chops in slow cooker.

Bring chicken broth just to a boil over medium heat; gradually whisk in the reserved 1/4 cup of seasoned salt until smooth. Cook over medium heat for 2 minutes and pour over pork chops in slow cooker. Cover and cook for approximately 4 to 4-1/2 hours until pork chops are tender.

Remove pork chops to serving platter and keep warm. Whisk the juices remaining in slow cooker until smooth, strain if desired, and serve with the pork chops.

*Salish smoked salt is a natural alder smoked sea salt that gives a wonderfully smokey undertone to meat, fish and seafood.
