Cinnamon Rolls

Everyone loves fresh homemade cinnamon rolls still warm from the oven, but the thought of all the work involved can be overwhelming. This cinnamon roll recipe is easy to mix up in a bread machine, which eliminates most of the work! You might be saving a few steps, but you’re certainly not sacrificing on flavor. These cinnamon rolls are scrumptious!

Ingredients:

Dough:

*All ingredients, except the milk, should be at room temperature.

7 to 9 oz warm milk (115° F)
1-1/2 tsp. salt
1-1/2 Tbsp. unsalted butter
3-1/4 c bread flour
2 Tbsp. sugar
1-3/4 tsp. Active Dry Yeast

Filling:

2 Tbsp. butter, softened
1/2 c. sugar
4 tsp. ground cinnamon

Icing:

2 c powdered sugar
1 Tbsp. butter, softened
2 to 3 Tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Directions:

  1. In the bread pan of your breadmaker, add the ingredients one at a time (in the order given), layering as you go. Place pan in the machine and process on dough setting according to the manufacturer’s directions. This setting will mix the ingredients, knead the dough and let it rise right in the bread machine, so you can relax and let the machine do all the work.
  2. When the dough cycle has finished, remove the pan and turn the dough out onto a lightly floured work surface. Roll the dough into a 15″ x 9″ rectangle.
  3. Spread softened butter evenly over the rectangle of dough. Stir cinnamon and sugar together and sprinkle evenly over the buttered dough.
  4. Starting at the 15″ side, roll dough tightly into a log. Pinch along the seam in order to seal the edge. Stretch and shape roll until it is an even 15″ log shape.
  5. Using a serrated knife, gently cut dough into 8 even slices. Arrange in a lightly greased 9″ x 12″ x 2″ baking pan, spacing evenly. Cover and let rise in a warm, draft-free location until the cinnamon rolls have doubled in size; this will take about 40 minutes, depending on how warm your kitchen is.
  6. Preheat oven to 375° F. Bake cinnamon rolls on the center rack for about 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown. Remove pan to wire rack and let cool for 10 minutes.

While Cinnamon rolls are baking make the icing:

  1. Combine powdered sugar, butter, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  2. Place in a ziptop baggie; seal the top and snip a small corner off the bottom of the bag.
  3. Drizzle icing over warm rolls and serve immediately.

Woah! I’m really digging the template/theme of this site. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s very difficult to get that “perfect balance” between user friendliness and visual appearance. I must say you have done a excellent job with this. Additionally, the blog loads extremely quick for me on Firefox. Excellent Blog!
